word:sabaka

sabaka

Noun

sabaka

  1. [pejorative] mongrel, bastard

Notes

Does not have to be directed at a person; can be used as a simple expression of surprise, dismay, or realization (note usage by Anderson Dawes, S1E06 11:54).

Can also be used when attempting some risky action, as when trying a dubious beverage (Diogo, S1E02 29:19) or engaging in a slingshot maneuver (Bizi Betiko, S1E04 13:59).

Despite its etymology, does not mean “dog” in Lang Belta; koyo is as close as you can get to that.

Etymology

Russian собака “dog”
